لجعل الأسئلة في الماضي المستمر (Past Continuous)، ضع "Was" / "Were" قبل الفاعل (Subject) وأضف صيغة "-ing" للفعل (Verb)، مثلا:
1- بيان إيجابي:
I was sleeping
- الفاعل"I" أولاً، ثم صيغة الفعل "Was"
2- السؤال الإيجابي:
Was I sleeping?
- لطرح سؤال، تأتي صيغة الفعل "was" أولاً ثم الفاعل "I".

Was/were + Pronouns + verb + ing
Question: Were + you + reading + books?
Answer: Yes/No + I + was/was not.
Question: Was+ Fathi + playing + football?
Answer: Yes/No + he + was/was not
Question: Were + they + singing + a song?
Answer: Yes/No + they + were/ were not.
